Saguni fails to capitalize on its strengths and becomes just an average movie masala lacking all common sense and logic. Watch it once for Santhanam and Karthi.


++ Comedy.This is the only factor that makes it watchable
+ Lot of witty one liners, most of the dialogues are good

- G.V.Prakash music is very average
-- Absolutely No logic and common sense in second half.
- It should be 100th time seeing Prakash Raj in these kind of roles. I'm fed up
- They could have probably made Anushka herself the female lead, just 5 more scenes for Pranitha

What should have been an edge of the seat entertainer with its brilliant title,fantastic star cast,good story fails abruptly lacking common sense and logic.

 Verdict:  "3" itself has a Bipolar Disorder. It's like watching 2 different movies

 First half is ok. 

• + Siva karthikeyan's witty one liners, songs, descent acting by both
• - Usual love sequences seen in hundreds of films
• - Dublin marriage is just too much 

Second Half is too slow and boring

• + Dhanush's Acting(esp. in climax), BGMs at few places really good
• - Not even out of Dhanush's role in Mayakkam Enna, another similar kind is too much to take
• - Screenplay is not gripping, very slow and boring at lot of places.

Review:

With the flashback , love track in school tuition etc.. movie did start well. 

In fact lot of us would have something to relate ourselves to during those days and hence it makes it pleasant.

Siva Karthikeyan's role/one liners though short make you laugh/smile.Comedy/Songs keep the flow going good in first half though at times we feel slightly bored or feel it is slow.

Seeing Dhanush and Shruti in school uniform is not bad. At places Dhanush resembles his Thulluvatho ilamai char but obviously looks older now. Both of them have acted well. Marriage in Dublin was little too much for a girl from middle class traditional family. Other characters have done their roles neat.Till now, had a feel movie was going ok.

Now, getting into second half, kolaveri pops soon after the interval and video is just ok not too complaining though.

Another psychological disorder oriented role, that too last role being similar one from mayakkam enna is too much. Particularly because of this last movie effect, this just looks like another similar one and fails to create an impact which it would have otherwise.This looks as if you got into another screen after buying your popcorns in the interval.

Dhanush definitely has acted very well especially at the Climax but as mentioned above it is nothing much new. 

Shruthi cries a lot in second half and too much of crying makes you irritated as it progresses towards the end. 

BGMs at places were good and for a debut music director it is appreciable. Second half is too slow, too much of crying, boring . Better Editing could have helped audience patience to be in control. 

On the whole, not a bad attempt from a debut director Aishwarya. But could have been more better.

Ambuli (3D) Movie Review

Verdict: ‎"Ambuli(3D)"(அம்புலி) is watchable just for the 3D.

• ++ commendable effort on 3D effects(first ever-stereoscopic 3D film in Tamil ) 
• + decent script could have been taken more wisely 
• BGMs were ok kind for a thriller 
• -- Unwanted Songs, love track, logical Flaws, screenplay( grip was missing)

Review:

I visited their site(http://www.ambuli3d.com/) after booking the tickets and definitely it did raise my expectations. After watching, I was not let down from the technical front.

As soon as the movie started, I was impressed with the 3D effects. Even in the few recent English movies I felt 3D wasn't up to the mark. Being a home grown film, it was really impressive.

Kudos to the team to take a descent and intelligent script which you would not see frequently in tamil movies.

But I guess, still the team was bit by the usual masala bug , which is why you have the love tracks, dream songs, which hamper the pace of the movie. 
As well, acting by those new faces were amateurish and artificial at places 

I personally felt Parthiban was not used to his maximum. Climax was ok, though it wasn't very impressive.

P.S : I do not want to spoil the first time watchers mentioning the storyline hints.
